Board Member

Claudio Ferri is a seasoned opera professional with an extensive career spanning over two decades. Currently serving as the Artistic Director and Deputy General Director at Opera Carolina, Ferri's journey into the world of opera began in 1999 when, as a high school student, he worked at a festival in Rome led by an American conductor. His early days in opera saw him assisting with public relations, which quickly transitioned into managing top-tier talent, such as American mezzo-soprano Alice Baker.

Ferri's ability to secure prestigious engagements for his clients in Italy earned him a reputation as one of the country's youngest and most successful opera agents. Over the years, he has cultivated relationships with renowned artists and organizations, making an indelible mark on the international opera scene.

Ferri's passion for opera is not just a career but a life’s calling, and he brings this deep commitment and expertise to his role on the Board of Directors at New York City Opera. With his broad experience in artist management and artistic leadership, Ferri is poised to contribute meaningfully to the future of the company.
