WHAT: City Opera Thrift Shop announces 8th Annual DIVAS Shop for Opera event.
Unlike any other shopping event, DIVAS Shop for Opera offers guests exclusive access to vintage and designer clothing, accessories, and jewelry, with all proceeds benefiting the design and creation of New York City Opera costumes.
Shoppers will discover vintage Pauline Trigére, Bill Blass, Oscar de la Renta, and Geoffrey Beene and a collection of donated designer items such as Anna Sui, Black Fleece, Derek Lam, Issey Miyake USA, Louis Vuitton, Peter Som, Thom Browne, Yves Saint Laurent, Chado Ralph Rucci, and many others all at 50 – 75% off retail prices. Price range - women’s items: suits & dresses $35-$250, jackets & coats $35-$500, shoes & handbags $35-$525, hats and jewelry $35-$300, men’s items: suits $50-$350, coats $50-$425, shirts $25-$250.

City Opera Thrift Shop receives generous donation of rare Fortuny and other antique textile cushions from the estate of Francoise Nunnalle.
The City Opera Thrift Shop has received one of the most extraordinary collections of rare Fortuny and other antique textile cushions in the world that once belonged to the international antique textile, linen and lace collector, FRANÇOISE NUNNALLE, especially known for her exceptional collection of original Mariano Fortuny fabrics. Mariano Fortuny was a Venetian fashion and textile fashion designer who opened his couture house in 1906 and continued until 1946. He also designed costumes and scenery for La Scala opera.
Francoise Nunnalle’s pillows and textiles were purchased by private collectors and interior designers, her client list included Diane Swayer, Martha Stewart, and Madonna. This valuable collection of meticulously made Fortuny pillows will be made available to the public for the first time in over 5 years at DIVAS Shop for Opera. Prices range from $400 - $1,000.
